Webpage Design for Debbie Millman 2
This is my second design for Debbie Millman's webpage. She is really into education and making people aware about design in general and how people should use it intelligently. For my page I decided to have a chalk board in the background because she is an educator. Along with the white chalk font. I also decided to include a description of some of the things she does along with photos of her books and illustrated essays. It is still round and in process but I plan on having the teaching theme throughout the webpage. Here are some of the sites I referenced.

Webpage Design for Debbie Millman
This is the first design layout for Debbie Millman's webpage. I just wanted a basic layout and not too much on the page. But I wanted to be able to do multiple links like on her website.

Summary of CSS Basics Tutorials
Chapter one just talked about the three basic ways to apply style to an HTML document, Internal Stylesheet, External Stylesheet, Inline Styles. It also gives info on certain things to consider when creating them (user with disabilities, power users, browser issues). Chapter 2 discussed the syntax, which is broken down into three parts to create a style a selector, which contains in side of it a property and a value. Chapter 3 discusses classes, which are ways to override changes inside of stylesheets. You can use the same class selector again and again within an (x)html file. In Chapter 4 it explains how CSS IDs are similar to classes, but once a specific id has been declared it cannot be used again within the same (x)html file.

MastHead Ideas
Here are some of the beginning stages of my masthead ideas. I decided to go with the marker font because it gives a more handwritten feel and is really bold and stands out.

Questions For Magazine Cover
Who is the target audience? - 18+
What is the name of your magazine? Why? Connotations? - Release. A collaboration of stories from anonymous people where they can have a chance to get off their chest things they wish they could replay or do over in their life they feel they could have prevented or just something that happened in general.
What will your masthead look like? Do you have any ideas for fonts? - I’m not sure what my masthead would look like but I have an idea for my font. It will be bold sand serif. Most likely going to be the color red.
What images will be on the cover and why? - The images I am visioning on the cover will definitely be a rewind button. And probably a tv or an illustration of an example from a story someone might submit.
What will be your sell lines to entice your target audience? - Therapy without the cost.

Magazine Cover MindMap
A few ideas I have for this project are
Misfortunes Magazine- people collaborating to write about their encounters for entertainment
Memories Mag- reminiscence type of magazine for ppl all over to share their stories and memories
Fictional Barbie Mag- Barbie Doll Magazine (Fictional)
Ultimate Roadtrip Magazine- Guide to THE BEST ROADTRIP EVER
Controversy Mag- A magazine where the most controversial topics are introduced and opposing sides are incorporated withing the magazine
IDGAF Mag- I don't give a f*** magazine. Entertainment based. Freedom of speech/expression type magazine ppl saying whatever they want. Good or Bad. Kind of like the FML website but it's more of not caring what others think while you have your views broadcasted.
I kind of enjoy the idea of having a collaborative magazine where people from all over submit not only their stories thoughts and feelings, it's kind of a way to connect everyone kind of nationally not just through Twitter and FB.

MindMapping
Of my ideas, I found it interesting that I keep referring to the human brain. How it thinks and feels mostly. More of a connection with life itself and how we live it. I will need to do a bit more research though for my ideas to come up with a good concept.

Riana_PenTool_Logo_Exercize
These are the logos I made using the pen tool. I am having a bit of difficulty making the lines curvy and sharp, but I am much better at controlling the tool from when I first started.

What I have Learned
I found both of those videos to be very interesting. I learned a lot more from the "Laptop Vs Desktop" video though. I was thinking of buying a mac book pro because it was easier to carry around, but I realized that I will be spending a lot more on that laptop when I could just purchase a Desktop that does the same thing. I also did not know that Ipads were considered tablet computers. There is a lot more I need to learn about the technology I am using and I am looking forward to gaining that knowledge.
